Following her celestial yet commanding debut single 'Nuketown', released to praise from Complex UK,BBC1XtraWorldwide FMGilles Peterson and more, Tiana Khasi unleashes a rhythmic, robust statement in the form of new single 'They Call Me', and announces her debut EP MEGHALAYA, to be released on March 29 via Soul Has No Tempo.

Premiering with triple j's Nkechi Anele, 'They Call Me' is a syncopated, stomping refusal to yield to shame, a reclamation of her own narrative, and an ode to the women who made both possible.

"'They Call Me' was written to challenge the problematic depictions of women in history and literature. It’s also a tribute to the fierce women whose rebellion, fire and strength inspires me, especially my Tinā ole Tinā (Nana). I wanted this song to to become an anthem for myself and other women to abandon shame, reclaim and redefine the names they have been given and be the authors of their own story"  - Tiana Khasi

Possessing a singular voice that's been called "elegant" (Life Without Andy), "most dope" (Audiosteez) and "as venomous as it is honey-sweet" (Happy), it's no wonder Tiana Khasi had already been streamed over 3 million times before Nuketown's release, thanks to acclaimed features with The Kite String TangleGolden Vessel and labelmate Sampology.

A trained jazz vocalist and keystone artist in her hometown whose live reputation precedes her via her work fronting local jazz/hip-hop collective Astro TravellersTiana's unique sound is heavily influenced by her Samoan and Indian heritage, and has seen her support Jamaican-American "TrapHouseJazz" sensation Masego, Swedish soul artist Fatima, acclaimed Australian collective 30/70, labelmate Laneousand more.

The first single from her forthcoming debut EP, 'Nuketown' found support as far as Complex UKLondon's Worldwide FM, Germany's C-Heads Magazine, a spot on Gilles Peterson's 13thBrownswood Bubblers compilation & Spotify playlisting (Just Chill) and as near to home as triple j,Double J, and community radio nationally. 'Meghalaya' was co-written and produced by Sampology; and is a rich tapestry of styles and influence, with inspiration drawing from themes of self-empowerment, family and heritage, the results of collaborating with contemporary musicians while studying jazz.
